Reds react to training on social media

On Monday, many more Reds returned to Carrington to begin pre-season preparations under new manager Erik ten Hag.

In addition to being put through their paces, several Reds took to social media to express their delight at being back in action, following the summer break.

Here’s a selection of the ones we spotted...

BRUNO FERNANDES

Our midfield maestro returned to Carrington yesterday following his participation in the UEFA Nations League with Portugal at the end of last season.

The 27-year-old appears optimistic for the future under Ten Hag, posting a training image on Twitter with the caption: “Fresh start. New chapter begins”

DIOGO DALOT

Bruno’s compatriot, Diogo Dalot also represented Portugal in the Nations League. Our right-back posted a similar message to Bruno, stating: “The beginning, let’s do this."

HARRY MAGUIRE

Our captain Harry Maguire represented England in the Nations League in June, before getting married last week.

The defender was back in action at Carrington yesterday, and appears ready for the start of a new era under Ten Hag. His tweet – featuring images from training – was accompanied by the message: “Felt good to be back at Carrington today. Great to see all the lads and staff. 2022/23 begins.”

FRED

The 2021/22 season was arguably Fred’s most impressive in a United shirt to date. The Brazilian was away with his national team in June and returned to Carrington this week, along with compatriot Alex Telles.

The industrious midfielder will no doubt be looking to kick on under his new manager and appears ready for the task. “We’re back at the office!” was the message the Brazilian posted on his Twitter.

ANTHONY ELANGA

Anthony Elanga arrived back at Carrington this week having been on international duty with Sweden - he scored his first-ever senior international goal, too.

The winger looked happy to be back, and posted an image of his beaming smile, and the words: “Locked in for the new season.” The 22-year-old appears determined to kick on in 2022/23.

MARCUS RASHFORD

Some Reds began pre-season training last week, and Rashford was one of them. The 24-year-old has been put through his paces by Ten Hag, and his recent interview with MUTV outlined that he is “ready and focused” for the new season.

Rashford tweeted a training snap with a full battery emoji, reinforcing this notion.

FACUNDO PELLISTRI

Pellistri is another United player who returned yesterday and he already appears to be relishing the new Ten Hag regime.

The Uruguayan youngster spent last season on loan at Spanish side Alaves, and is happy to be back with the Reds, posting the message: “Back to @ManUtd” along with a selection of training images.
