Thursday 26 October 2023 13:00

Manchester United's festive schedule has been announced by the Premier League.

Erik ten Hag's side have received details of our top-flight programme for the remainder of the year and also the early part of 2024.

December starts with a trip to Newcastle United that was already confirmed for a 20:00 GMT kick-off on the second of the month. There has been a minor tweak to our home clash with Chelsea on Wednesday 6 December, which now starts at the later time of 20:15 GMT. The battle with the Blues will be shown on Amazon Prime Video.

Our Old Trafford encounter with Bournemouth remains in the 15:00 GMT slot on Saturday 9 December, and will not be broadcast live in the UK.

Revealed: Dates for United's winter break

Thursday's Premier League fixture release confirms a free weekend for Erik ten Hag's side in January.

Following our final UEFA Champions League Group A tie, against Bayern Munich, there is a blockbuster fixture with Liverpool on Merseyside. The Anfield showdown has been moved to Sunday 17 December, for live coverage on Sky Sports at 16:30 GMT.

The Reds' pre-Christmas game is at West Ham United, with TNT Sports screening the action. The London Stadium assignment is a lunchtime start on 23 December (12:30 GMT).

Although we are playing on the traditional footballing feast of Boxing Day, our home match with Aston Villa has been moved to 20:00 GMT, with Amazon Prime Video covering it from Old Trafford.

United's final game of 2023 will be at Nottingham Forest's City Ground, with Sky Sports showing the teatime tussle at 17:30 GMT.

The Emirates FA Cup third round will represent our first outing of 2024, with the opponents still to be drawn, but we also now know when the home contest with Tottenham Hotspur is to take place. The Spurs showdown is on 14 January, live on Sky Sports, at 16:30 GMT.

This means our winter break will be around the following weekend.

The Premier League has clarified that more time is being allowed for players to recover around the three festive match rounds with no club playing within 60 hours of another game.

The broadcast picks for match round 22, when will are due to face Wolves at Molineux, will be released when the February fixtures are updated.
