Manchester United made three signings in the January transfer window, all in the final two days before the deadline.

Firstly, there was the major signing of Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon on Thursday 30 January - the eve of the transfer deadline.

On deadline day itself, young goalkeeper Nathan Bishop arrived from Southend United, also on a permanent basis.

Finally, late on Friday night, 31 January, the club confirmed the loan signing of former Watford striker Odion Ighalo, from Chinese club Shanghai Greenland Shenhua, until the end of the 2019/20 season.

Ashley Young was the only player to leave on a permanent basis, after sealing a move to Inter Milan.

The full-back, whose United contract was set to expire in the summer, signed an initial six-month deal with the Serie A side.

Fellow defender Marcos Rojo joined Estudiantes on loan the day before the transfer deadline.
