Erik ten Hag has selected his Manchester United team to face Crystal Palace at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, in our third game of Tour 2022.

The Reds are looking to build on convincing wins over Liverpool and Melbourne Victory before departing for Perth, ahead of the friendly with Aston Villa at the weekend.

There are three changes to the team that started the Melbourne Victory encounter. Marcus Rashford is back, presumably on the left-hand side, and David De Gea returns in goal in place of Tom Heaton.

Left-back Tyrell Malacia makes his maiden start since signing from Feyenoord to become Ten Hag's first signing at the club. Luke Shaw and Anthony Elanga are on the 17-strong bench.

Raphael Varane and James Garner are not in the matchday squad but this is only as a precaution and they will continue to train with the group.

Speaking to MUTV pre-match, Ten Hag insisted that his players are beginning to take on his ideas and methods, ahead of our Premier League opener against Brighton in just over three weeks' time.

"I see progression from day to day and that has to be because, come the seventh of August, we have to be ready for the start of the Premier League," began the Dutchman.

"It is good today to face a Premier League team.

"They are a good team and we got beat [by them] in the last game of the season, so we know we have to do good and we know we have to do better. We need a better performance to get the right result."
