Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

United team to face Villa confirmed

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has chosen the side that beat West Ham in London in the Premier League last Sunday for today’s lunchtime fixture against Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

In midweek the boss made 11 changes for the Carabao Cup match against the Hammers at home.

But it’s back to league duty and the XI who won 2-1 at the London Stadium are all restored to the Reds' line-up looking to make it four wins on the bounce in the Premier League.

Cristiano Ronaldo leads the attack again and will be hoping to keep his astonishing goal record going since he returned to United at the start of the month.

Ronaldo scored twice on his second Reds debut against Newcastle and bagged strikes against Young Boys and West Ham away since. United’s forward strength is further bolstered by the return of Edinson Cavani to the 20-man squad on duty, having recovered from a muscle injury sustained in a friendly against Stoke City earlier this month.

The Uruguayan is on the bench making his first appearance on a competitive match day since he came on as a substitute against Wolves at Molineux back in August.

The manager was disappointed with United's start in the midweek defeat against West Ham in the Carabao Cup and wants the Reds to burst from the traps today.

"We need some aggression, intensity, of course from the start. Any away team coming here should expect us to attack. Hopefully we can get off on the front foot," he told MUTV.

"Every game is just as important. Still in September, every game we play is important. Three points at home has a big, big impact."
