Ten Hag names XI for Rangers clash

The French defender starts at Murrayfield, wearing his new no.15 shirt, after signing from Lille on Thursday and training at Carrington on Friday.

Erik ten Hag has fielded a mixture of youth and experience in his line-up to face the Scottish Premiership side in Edinburgh, where kick-off is at 16:00 BST.

Andre Onana, who joined the club a year ago today, returns in goal after Radek Vitek impressed between the sticks against Rosenborg in Norway on Monday.

Amad and Jadon Sancho also make their first appearances of pre-season, having stayed at home for our previous friendly in Trondheim.

It will be Sancho’s first outing in a United shirt since 26 August last year following his return from a loan spell at German side Borussia Dortmund.

As we have previously reported, Antony, Victor Lindelof and Marcus Rashford miss the game with small niggles, while Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay and Tyrell Malacia have not travelled as they continue to work their way back to full fitness on the training ground.

Casemiro wears the captain’s armband once again, with Bruno Fernandes among the players still on their summer break after international duty.

There are plenty of options on the bench too, with a raft of substitutions expected during the match in the Scottish capital.
