Three changes for Reds

Saturday 13 May 2023 14:01

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has named his side for what is probably a must-win game against Wolves at Old Trafford.

Coming into the fixture following two defeats on the road, the Reds need to get back on track in order to clinch a top-four spot, with Liverpool breathing down our necks in fifth spot.

With United needing a maximum of nine points from the remaining four games, failure to beat the Black Country side would mean having to then win each of our final three matches, providing the Merseysiders do likewise.

There are three changes to the XI that started at West Ham United last time out.

Fit-again Raphael Varane returns to the side in central defence but there is no Marcus Rashford, after our top scorer was flagged as a massive doubt in the manager's MUTV interview on Friday.

Luke Shaw shifts to left-back, with Tyrell Malacia dropping to the bench, while Wout Weghorst is also among the substitutes.

Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial are introduced, in a bid to pep up our attack, after only one goal in our last three outings.

We can confirm Marcel Sabitzer is absent due to an injury he has picked up, after being involved at the London Stadium.

United: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Lindelof, Shaw; Casemiro, Eriksen; Antony, Fernandes (c), Sancho; Martial.

Subs: Butland, Dalot, Maguire, Malacia, Fred, Elanga, Garnacho, Pellistri, Weghorst.
