James delights team-mates with personal news

Everybody at Manchester United was absolutely delighted for Daniel James on Sunday, when the popular midfielder proudly announced he is expecting a baby boy.

James posted a gender reveal video via his official Instagram account, showing him and partner Ria firing cannons that exploded with blue confetti – signifying the sex of their baby, of course.

The little one is due in September and Dan’s team-mates were quick to congratulate him on his excellent news, with club captain and father of two Harry Maguire among the first to post.

The players were buzzing for Jamo on Sunday after he dropped some huge news on Instagram.

'MINI JAMOOOO IS COMING!'

There is a tremendous team spirit in the group right now and our players were clearly buzzing for James at the weekend, judging by the comments section of his Instagram post.

Mason Greenwood, Scott McTominay, Brandon Williams and Jesse Lingard all posted messages of congratulations, plus Bruno Fernandes, who wrote: “Mini Jamoooo is coming!”

Two former members of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad, Angel Gomes and Odion Ighalo, also sent their best to James.

There were also messages from a host of fellow professionals that included Aston Villa talisman Jack Gralish, Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham and Sheffield United man Ollie McBurnie.

UNITED IS A FAMILY CLUB

Famously, Sir Alex Ferguson encouraged his players to settle down and start a family as young men, as he believed it provided a settled environment for them to thrive.

Solskjaer naturally agrees with his former manager and he spoke earlier this season about how Luke Shaw’s top form can be linked to the left-back becoming a father, saying: “He's become a dad and I think that does a lot to many people.”

In an interview of his own, Shaw admitted: “My son has completely changed my whole life. Obviously, for the better. He is brilliant and he is growing up so quick. He gets emotional now when I have to leave. But he is a joy. Every day is different.”
Dan's team-mates were quick to send messages of congratulations on Sunday.
David De Gea recently became a dad for the first time and our squad is filled with proud fathers, so James has plenty of team-mates to lean on if he needs advice.

Congratulations again to Dan on such fantastic news.
