January 2023: Dates for your diary

The festive period may be over, but there's a jam-packed fixture list to look forward to in the first month of 2023 for Manchester United.

Across our teams, the Reds face 16 fixtures between now and the start of February, with FA Cup campaigns for both Erik ten Hag and Marc Skinner's sides beginning, alongside further fixture in other competitions.

THE FIRST TEAM

After a strong start return to club action with wins over Burnley and Nottingham Forest, Ten Hag’s men will begin  with four fixtures in a row at Old Trafford. First to travel to the Theatre of Dreams is AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League, before Frank Lampard's Everton visit Manchester in the FA Cup.

In the following week, United compete in the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup against Charlton Athletic, before Old Trafford plays host to the Manchester derby on Saturday 14 January. Pep Guardiola’s side beat the Reds 6-3 at the Etihad Stadium earlier in the season, and Erik will be looking for United to put that right this month.

Finally, to cap off a busy month, the Reds travel to the Emirates Stadium to take on Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal; our only away match in January.

UNITED WOMEN

United’s Women team will play two Women’s Super League games this month, after the short winter training break in Malta. During this trip, the Reds will face Birkirkara FC at Hibernians Stadium on 6 January.

After returning from Malta, Marc Skinner’s side take on rivals Liverpool at home in the WSL before traveling Adams Park Stadium to take on Reading. Blackburn Rovers and Sunderland will face each other in the Women’s FA Cup replay, with the winner facing United in the next round at the end of the month.

UNDER 21S

The young Reds have not played since the 2-0 loss to PSV Eindhoven in December, but can look forward to a busy schedule in the New Year.

First, United will travel to Fulham before taking on rivals and title challengers Liverpool, with both matches in the Premier League 2.

Then, the Reds will face West Ham United in the league and take on Feyenoord in the next round of the Premier League International Cup, before seeing the month out with one final league game against Blackburn Rovers.

UNDER-18S

Travis Binnion's side come into 2023 looking to retain the FA Youth Cup, as they continue the defence of the trophy away to Stoke City. 

The young Reds then return to league action just three days later, again on the road, against Blackburn Rovers. As January draws to a close, United will play rivals Liverpool at home, before a third away tie of the month, versus Wolverhampton Wanderers.
