United to illuminate Niagara Falls in pre-season spectacular
Manchester United will illuminate the world-famous Niagara Falls in an exclusive light show ahead of the team’s visit to the US this summer.
Kicking off the club’s pre-season tour, as part of the Premier League Summer Series, we have teamed up with Niagara Parks Commission and the official Manchester United Niagara Supporters’ Club to stage the event.
All three waterfalls that make up the Falls, spanning the border between Canada and the state of New York, will be lit up in United red at 22:00 CET on Wednesday 23 July, accompanied by a firework display.
United supporters from Niagara, Toronto, Buffalo and Rochester will be joined by club legend Wes Brown for the illumination, in addition to an exclusive visit to Niagara Parks power station and a Journey-Behind-the-Falls experience.
Rick McGagh, director of fan engagement at Manchester United, said: “When our Niagara Supporters’ Club came up with the idea of United lighting up the world-famous Niagara Falls, we had to make it happen - it will be a unique occasion where two forces of nature combine to create a spectacular event! It is always great to engage with our fans in authentic ways that mean a lot to them and their community - and there aren’t many better examples of this than the event on 23 July!”
Tony Baldinelli, Member of Parliament in the Canadian House of Commons for the federal riding of Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake said: “We are honoured to welcome Manchester United to Niagara and light Niagara Falls in their team colours to celebrate their visit to North America for the Premier League’s Summer Series.
"This special event also builds the momentum and enthusiasm for next year’s 2026 FIFA World Cup. Thank you to Manchester United, Niagara Parks, and the Niagara MUFC Supporters’ Club for making this event a dream come true for local MUFC fans in our region.”
Jim Diodati, Mayor of the City of Niagara Falls said: “I want to extend a warm Niagara Falls welcome to Manchester United Football Club. We love rolling out the red carpet and have a buffet of fun and entertainment – from breathtaking natural wonders to unforgettable attractions. We wish you best of luck on your pre-season tour in the Us and invite you to experience all that our great city has to offer. We’ll be cheering you on!”
Tim Stockton, secretary of Manchester United Niagara Supporters’ Club said: “Niagara MUFC is ecstatic to welcome Manchester United to Niagara Falls. Power, beauty and grace are three words that come to mind when you think about Niagara Falls. Those three words are also synonymous with Manchester United’s glorious history. It’s only fitting that these two global icons finally come together.”
Niagara Falls is the first of many supporter activations taking place across the pre-season tour, with further events and collaborations to follow in New Jersey, Chicago and Atlanta.

WARM-UPS ON TOUR
United will be joining up with Niagara, New Jersey, USA, Chicago and Atlanta supporters’ clubs to host a series of much-loved Warm-Up events, including legend meet and greets, signing sessions and Q&As.
Taking place at our official supporters’ club venues, the Warm-Up events, usually hosted the evening before a game at Old Trafford, will bring together United fans from across Canada, the United States, and travelling supporters from the UK and beyond.
COMMUNITY ACTIVATIONS
Building on previous summer tours, United will once again be integrating with local communities and delivering enrichment programmes for young people and charity partners.
In partnership with Street Soccer USA, United will return to The Bronx, New York, in addition to community locations in Chicago and Atlanta, to deliver soccer tournaments, engaging with 180 children from socially deprived and disadvantaged backgrounds.
The club will also take a group of high-school students from the charity to the New York Stock Exchange on Wall Street to ring the closing bell for the week’s trading. The groups will get a tour of the Stock Exchange and the chance to hear from traders about their route into the profession.
Keep an eye out for further updates and for more exciting collaborations during the Reds' tour of the US, which includes Premier League Summer Series games against West Ham United at the MetLife Stadium, New Jersey, on 26 July; Bournemouth at Soldier Field, Chicago, on 30 July; and Everton at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on 3 August.
