United join Premier League Summer Series
Manchester United will return to the US for pre-season preparations this July and August, as part of the Premier League’s Summer Series.
The announcement of United’s participation in the Summer Series was delivered live on NBC. The host broadcaster of the competition, during the half-time of its live coverage of Sunday's Premier League fixture against Arsenal at Old Trafford.
Club legend Andrew Cole, a five-times Premier League champion, joined the NBC broadcast and said: “The facilities in the US provide a world-class environment for players to come and prepare for the upcoming season and bond as a group. Playing three Premier League sides, in three iconic stadiums, will be a great advert for the quality of the league.
“United enjoy a huge following in the US and I know they will be incredibly excited about the prospect of watching and engaging with the team, when they return this summer.”
The club has played pre-season fixtures in the US for the last two years but will compete in the Summer Series for the first time ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
United’s first of three fixtures will be against West Ham United in New Jersey. The clash will see the Reds return to the MetLife Stadium for the first time since a 2-0 victory over Arsenal in 2023.
Next, the team will travel to Chicago to face Bournemouth at Soldier Field, one of the oldest and most famous stadiums in the National Football League. United have made several previous outings at Soldier Field, including in 2011 against Chicago Fire – a fixture which saw the David De Gea wear the United shirt for the first time, the Spaniard went on to make the most appearances of any goalkeeper in the club’s history.
The final Summer Series fixture will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, in Atlanta, against Everton, marking United's first-ever game in the US state of Georgia.

“Playing other teams from the Premier League provides the players with an opportunity to gain valuable playing time against top opposition, and for our passionate fans to see the action live at three of the most iconic stadiums in North America.”

Tickets go on pre-sale on Thursday 13 March from 12:00 ET/11:00 CT/16:00 GMT with general sale beginning on Friday 14 March.
