United train ahead of flight to France

Monday 19 October 2020 14:21

Manchester United's players have gone through their final preparations at the Aon Training Complex before boarding our flight to France.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side return to Champions League action on the back of a morale-boosting victory at Newcastle United, with top seeds Paris Saint-German providing the opposition at Parc des Princes, in Group H.

It is the scene of our heart-stopping 3-1 win in March 2019, which knocked the Ligue 1 champions out of the competition in the most dramatic of circumstances.

Although suspended for domestic games, after his red card against Tottenham Hotspur, Anthony Martial is available to play in his homeland on Tuesday. The striker took part with his colleagues in the session on Monday morning and should be fresh to lead the line.

New boys Alex Telles and Edinson Cavani are also available and could make their first appearance for the Reds since signing on deadline day. Telles was an unused substitute for the 4-1 triumph at St James' Park, while Uruguayan legend Cavani will be desperate to feature, at some stage, as he is PSG's all-time leading goalscorer.

Facundo Pellistri, our third recent capture, also trained with the senior group and has been registered for the competition, even if the manager suggested last week the 18-year-old was being viewed as one for the future.

Argentinian centre-back Marcos Rojo was there too, but is not available for Tuesday's game, while fellow defender Axel Tuanzebe continues to inch closer to a return to action, and was also pictured on Monday. Mason Greenwood, who missed the Newcastle win, was in training and will hope to play at the ground where he made his senior debut for the Reds.

We'll have a full update from our pre-match interview with Ole later today, with his press conference also due to take place around 18:00 BST. Follow that as it happens in our Official App.

Bruno Fernandes will also appear alongside the manager to preview the big game.

Our 2020/21 home, away and third kits are available to buy now from United Direct.
