Reds train before Barcelona flight

Wednesday 15 February 2023 13:35

Manchester United have completed a final training session before flying out to Barcelona for the Europa League play-off first leg.

Erik ten Hag's side worked in front of the cameras at Carrington in preparation for a stern test against the most miserly defence in Europe, with the Catalan giants only conceding seven goals all season in La Liga.

Nonetheless, the Reds are also in good form and will be eagerly anticipating a special occasion at the Nou Camp.

There was no sign of injury absentees Scott McTominay, Anthony Martial and Antony.

Lisandro Martinez did train, while Marcel Sabitzer was not spotted, although both are suspended for the first leg.

Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek are out with longer-term injuries.

Young midfielders Kobbie Mainoo and Zidane Iqbal were part of the group, as has been the case recently.

We will confirm the travelling squad later this afternoon.
