Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United squad trained in front of the football media on Wednesday afternoon ahead of Thursday’s Europa League group-stage match against Omonia Nicosia.

As per UEFA rights, the first 15 minutes of the pre-match session are available for filming and cameras were focused on a group of Reds who are all determined to secure another European win.

United are currently placed second in Group E with six points from nine, after suffering a shock defeat to leaders Real Sociedad on matchday one before recording back-to-back victories against Sheriff and Omonia. As the manager said in his press conference, the mission is to win the pool.

Ten Hag has already confirmed that Anthony Martial will miss the game with the injury that he sustained against Everton on Sunday evening. Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Donny van de Beek are also set to be sidelined, but Marcus Rashford has overcome a knock to train fully.

Raphael Varane is completing an individual training schedule while he returns to full fitness. The France international picked up an injury in the recent Manchester derby and missed the trip to Cyprus, but he made an important late cameo at Goodison Park on Sunday night.

With an important Premier League match against Newcastle coming up on Sunday, many fans had wondered if Ten Hag might make changes against Omonia.

However, when pressed on the topic during his press conference, the manager shut that notion down and appeared to suggest he will field his strongest possible XI.

"All out for the victory," he said when describing our approach to the game. "The first game is always the most important. It's Europe, it's tough, we want to be number one in the group so we have to win that game."
