Ten Hag's Reds prepare for two matches this weekend

The Manchester United squad is training hard at Carrington this week, with minds focused on this weekend's two pre-season friendlies.

The Reds will face Atletico Madrid in Oslo, Norway, on Saturday before hosting Real Vallecano at Old Trafford on Sunday. We'd like to remind you that fans can watch both games live in the United App, on ManUtd.com or via MUTV.

Ten Hag's team went unbeaten throughout four matches on Tour 2022 and the manager is determined to build upon our encouraging performances this weekend.

As such, the squad has been training diligently all week and, on Wednesday, our cameras were granted access to one of Erik's sessions.

Take a look at the gallery of images below to see who was involved...

Our second and third summer signings, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez, are not pictured in the gallery as they were both involved in a behind-closed-doors match at Carrington, alongside a number of other squad members.

Both of our new recruits have credited Ten Hag as a key reason for joining United, with Eriksen telling us: “Obviously to speak with the manager and hear his ideas and have conversations with him on the football terms was great and ideal for me to get the decision and the possibility of coming to Manchester United.”

Martinez’s own signing interview was released earlier today and the defender was also clear in his admiration for the manager, saying: “I was with him three years at Ajax and I know his style of playing,” began Martinez.  With him, I improved a lot, to be honest. He’s here in Manchester now, so again the opportunity was there and for sure he’s very important in my [career].”

Eriksen and Martinez will both hope to appear in one of this weekend's friendlies, although it remains to be seen how the manager will approach the two games.

As you can see in the gallery of images, the likes of Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho were all among the senior Reds taking part in another beneficial training session.

The group was also bolstered by a number of players from our renowned Academy and that included young goalkeeper Tom Wooster, who will have learned so much from the experience. Fellow youth products Ethan Laird and Shola Shoretire were involved as well.

Ten Hag clearly has a large group to choose from as he prepares for this weekend's final pre-season friendlies.
