Training update from Carrington

Manchester United have worked out at Carrington on the eve of our Europa League semi-final second leg tie against Athletic Club.

The Reds hold a 3-0 advantage from the first game in Bilbao and were in good spirits at our base, in advance of what will hopefully be a memorable occasion at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

Ruben Amorim will be contemplating his starting XI for the clash, with the prize of a final at San Mames against either Tottenham Hotspur or Bodo/Glimt, later this month, at stake.

There was the welcome sight of Noussair Mazraoui participating in the session, after the Morocco international was fatigued following the first leg win in Bilbao.

The versatile defender was subsequently left out of the matchday squad for Sunday's 4-3 loss at Brentford but looks to be back in contention to help the Reds complete the job against our opponents from La Liga.

Matthijs de Ligt was not spotted after being withdrawn during the first half at the weekend but midfielder Zach Baumann was among the youngsters involved, as was Chido Obi, even though the striker is ineligible for the competition.

Christian Eriksen did not participate in the open section of the training, but will be available for the game, while Ayden Heaven was working individually.
