Training update from Melbourne
Manchester United’s pre-season tour has moved on to Melbourne, after Tuesday’s brilliant 4-0 victory over Liverpool in Bangkok.
Erik ten Hag and his squad flew straight to Australia from the Thai capital following the game, with the flight landing at Melbourne Airport early afternoon local time.
United fans who have been basking in the heatwave back in Manchester may be surprised at the weather conditions which greeted the team when they emerged out on to the AAMI Park pitch later that evening.

It is, of course, Australia’s winter and the players were mostly wrapped up from the cold as they began their post-match recovery session out in the driving rain.
Captain Harry Maguire joined in with the group across the session – he missed out on the win at the Rajamangala Stadium due to a knock, with Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof partnering each other in defence.
Eric Bailly and Alex Telles picked up the reins when Ten Hag rotated his outfield players at half-time.
