United in action against Liverpool.

Under-18s' cup date with Liverpool confirmed

Monday 22 March 2021 12:53

Manchester United's FA Youth Cup tie with Liverpool has been arranged for Saturday 3 April.

Neil Ryan's Reds progressed past Salford City 2-0 in the previous round, thanks to goals from Daniel Gore and Charlie McNeill at the Peninsula Stadium.

It set up a blockbuster clash with the Merseysiders, after our arch-rivals overcame Sutton United 6-0.

The game will be held at Leigh Sports Village, behind closed doors, with kick-off at 15:00 BST.

If the match is drawn after 90 minutes, extra-time will be played and penalties may be required to determine the winners as the tie must be decided on the day.

United beat Liverpool 4-3 at home in the Under-18 Premier League back in December in a cracking game which suggests it could be another entertaining affair.

We last lifted the trophy in 2011 and were beaten in the semi-finals by Chelsea last year.
