Revealed: United Women's 2023/24 WSL fixtures

Tuesday 18 July 2023 10:00

Manchester United Women's league fixtures for the 2023/24 season have been released today.

Marc Skinner's side were narrowly beaten to the Women's Super League title by Emma Hayes' Chelsea last term and enter the new campaign with confidence, after registering our highest final position so far in the team's five-year existence.

The Reds will be keen to have another fruitful year of development and growth, and our supporters have been eagerly awaiting the release of the WSL fixtures for the new term.

It has now been confirmed that United will raise the curtain on the forthcoming season away to Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday 1 October (12:30 BST).

This is the very first fixture of the new WSL season and in being hosted at Villa's main stadium, it represents another progressive step for women's football in England.

Last season, the two sides met at Old Trafford - Skinner's side beat the Villans 5-0 - and also at the Bescot Stadium in Walsall. The Reds also came out on top in the latter clash, winning 3-2, and will be looking for a repeat result as 2023/24 begins.

Our first home game of the season comes one week later, with Arsenal visiting Leigh Sports Village for a midday kick-off on Sunday 8 October.

Chelsea edged United to the WSL title by two points last season, as the Blues got the better of the Reds both home and away.

This term, Skinner's team travel to London in our first WSL match of 2024, on 21 January, before Hayes' side make the trip to Manchester on the final day of the campaign.

The champions defeated United 4-2 in our last match of the 2021/22 season at Kingsmeadow, as they won the title once more.

If 2023/24 is anything like 2022/23, our final-day fixture against the Blues on Sunday 18 May could be quite the finale.
