Rabjohn signs loan deal with Sunderland
Manchester United Women defender Evie Rabjohn has signed a season-long loan deal with second-tier side Sunderland.
The 20-year-old moved to United in 2023 after getting a first taste of senior football at Aston Villa and will now head to Wearside for her maiden loan spell.
Rabjohn joins Reds team-mate Keira Barry at the North East club, after the forward completed her own temporary switch there on Wednesday.
An anterior cruciate ligament injury kept Evie out of action last term, but the defender has bravely overcome that setback and featured for United in the recent pre-season campaign.
Rabjohn impressed at centre-back as we kept clean sheets in the first two friendly outings of the summer, against her old club Aston Villa and then Manchester City.
Our no.25’s one competitive outing for the Reds to date came in November 2023, as she helped us to register another shutout in a 7-0 League Cup win over Everton.

Rabjohn will now be looking to build on those senior experiences as she joins Sunderland, who finished seventh in last season’s highly competitive Championship, which was renamed WSL2 over the summer.
Led by head coach Melanie Reay, the Wearsiders will play their first home fixture of the campaign at the club’s Stadium of Light later this month, after starting the new second-tier season away to Sheffield United tomorrow (Friday) night.
Everyone at United would like to wish Evie the very best of luck for her 2025/26 in the North East.
