For the second time since launching the award, Leah Galton has been named Manchester United Women's Player of the Month.

Having picked up the accolade for her contributions in February, our left-winger has once again won the appraisals of fans for her efforts in April.

Competing with Ona Batlle and Rachel Williams for the monthly award, Galton attracted a whopping 47 per cent of the vote, with her aforementioned team-mates finishing on 19 and 33 per cent, respectively.

These finishes show exactly why Leah Galton was voted Player of the Month for April...

Galton's April win means she becomes the first United Women player to win the fan's vote for a second time.

And it comes as no surprise, given her knack of supplying big goals when the Reds have needed them most.

Our no.11 found the back of the net four times across the month, the first of which came during our trip to the south coast where we faced Brighton in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

After just 12 minutes, she opened the scoring, heading home from Katie Zelem’s expertly delivered corner kick. Though Brighton made life difficult for Marc Skinner’s side, it was Galton who once again struck to double our lead, rounding goalkeeper Lydia Williams and slotting in from a tight angle.

Her much-needed second after the hour opened the floodgates for United, with second-half substitutes Williams and Lucia Garcia scoring late on to seal a 4-0 win on the road

Following the international break, the Reds once again faced Brighton. This time, though, the stakes were even higher as the sides fought it out for a place in the Vitality Women's FA Cup final.

The Seagulls took the lead late in the first half, but Galton was on-hand to finish Batlle’s sublime cross just minutes after the restart to level the score.

A goal from Alessia Russo and a late winner from Williams was enough to see off the opposition and book our place at Wembley

Galton scored yet another decisive goal in our most recent WSL outing away to Aston Villa, as the Reds looked to extend our lead at the top of the table.

The hosts took the lead through Rachel Daly, but Galton was on target to once again provide the leveller, combining with Batlle to get the Reds back into the game almost instantly. Nikita Parris brought us back on level terms for a second time in the game, before Millie Turner’s stoppage-time header clinched three huge points at the Bescot Stadium

As the season draws to a close, Galton's influence is evident, making the winger a worth recipient of her second Player-of-the-Month award for this campaign.

Congratulations, Leah, and thank you to everyone who voted.
