Loan watch: Andreas scores and Bernard named MOTM

Andreas Pereira scored his second goal for Flamengo as the Brazilian side defeated Athletico Paranaense by three goals on Sunday.

The attacking midfielder burst forward, speeding away in front of his teammates as they charged up field on the counter attack and finished off a quick move spearheaded by Giorgian De Arrascaeta.

The 25-year-old has now scored two goals in five Serie A appearances for his new side, who have reached the final of the Copa Libertadores after comfortably beating Ecuadorian side Barcelona.

The Brazilian wasn't the only midfielder to impress out on loan this weekend, with Ethan Galbraith putting in an excellent performance for Doncaster Rovers in their 2-1 win against MK Dons in League One.

Confident on the ball and always looking to go forward, Galbraith coped well under pressure again in a crucial win for relegation-threatened Rovers, who have only two wins from their first 10 games. Ethan will now go to play for Northern Ireland's Under-21 side during the international break.

Axel Tuanzebe and Brandon Williams were unused substitutes for Premier League sides Aston Villa, who lost 2-1 to Spurs, and Norwich City, who drew 0-0 with Burnley.

In Scotland's top-flight, Dylan Levitt played well for Dundee United who headed to fifth in the Scottish Premiership with a 1-0 win over Ross County. Reece Devine was an unused sub for St Johnstone against Dundee FC.

Facundo Pellistri, who is celebrating the one-year anniversary of his move to Manchester United this week, was a late sub for Alaves as they failed to follow up on last week's shock victory against champions Atletico Madrid. Athletic Bilbao proved too strong for their Basque rivals and when Pellistri came on in the 82nd minute, Alaves were 1-0 down and that's how it would stay.

Tahith Chong played the full game for Birmingham City in a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest, for whom James Garner came on as a 71st-minute substitute. The two clubs are now separated by only one point in the Championship, Birmingham sitting in 16th and Forest 17th.

20-year-old Di'Shon Bernard was named Man of the Match as he helped Hull City to a clean sheet and victory against Middlesbrough. Bernard impressed playing on the right of a back three, in what was only the second win of the Tigers campaign thus far.

Di'Shon Bernard enjoyed a fine game for Hull City at the weekend.

“Great performance from all the boys today,” he said on Twitter post-match. “Let’s kick on from this now.”

Right-back Ethan Laird was a 61st-minute sub for Joel Latibeaudiere as Swansea City played out a goalless draw with bottom-placed Derby County. The Swans now have 11 points from 11 games and are 19th in the Championship.

Nathan Bishop couldn't help Nigel Clough's Mansfield Town to victory at home to Barrow, the away side winning 1-0 thanks to a penalty from Ollie Banks.

In the National League, Will Fish was an unused substitute as Stockport County travelled south and beat Weymouth by two goals to one.
