United's transfer ins and outs: Summer 2024

The Reds completed the signing of Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee, as well as Lille defender Leny Yoro, in July.

A pair of Bayern Munich defenders were added to the squad in August, as former Ajax men Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui were reunited with former boss Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.

Sekou Kone, an 18-year-old Malian midfielder, was the fifth confirmed summer transfer when his move from Guidars FC went through on deadline day.

Manuel Ugarte, the impressive and tenacious Uruguay midfielder, was then captured from PSG.

Several outgoings have also been confirmed, including two to La Liga - Willy Kambwala's move to Villarreal and Donny van de Beek's switch to Girona.

Alvaro Fernandez's loan to Benfica became permanent and Omari Forson linked up with Monza in Italy.

Charlie McNeill was snapped up by Sheffield Wednesday and the first loan exit involved another striker, in the shape of Joe Hugill, who joined Wigan Athletic. The second saw Radek Vitek head to Blau-Weiss Linz.

Mason Greenwood has signed for Marseille, in France, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka will ply his trade at West Ham United, following his August move to the London club.

Facundo Pellistri is continuing his career in Greece, with Panathinaikos, with Maxi Oyedele starting a new adventure at Legia Warsaw, and Will Fish linking up with Cardiff City.

Hannibal's transfer to Burnley was the first move of transfer deadline week, before Rhys Bennett was loaned to Fleetwood Town and Elyh Harrison joined Chester on a temporary basis.

Sonny Aljofree and James Nolan have also agreed loans, moving to Accrington Stanley and Inverness respectively, while long-serving Red Scott McTominay starts an exciting new chapter in Naples.

With the deadline passed, Jadon Sancho's loan switch to Chelsea was announced on the evening of 31 August.
