Manchester United's Women players have all joined together in support of Bayern Munich goalkeeper Mala Grohs, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.

The Bavarians confirmed the 23-year-old would be out for an 'indefinite period' after news broke of her illness a few weeks ago.

Bayern triggered an extra year in her contract through to the summer of 2026, with the announcement attracting well-wishes from across the footballing world.

"The illness is a challenge that I never thought I would have to overcome," said Grohs.

"But I am sure that with the help I am now getting from all sides, I will manage it and get completely healthy again."

United's players decided to gather together to show their support for Grohs, signing a shirt with their own personalised messages written upon it.

The squad also posed for a picture at our Carrington base, in a sign of clear camaraderie for the German youth international.

Current Reds defender Dominique Janssen played against Grohs last season during her time in the Frauen-Bundesliga with Wolfsburg.

Grohs has made 81 appearances for Bayern since joining from VfL Bochum in 2019, winning three German titles and the German Super Cup.

Everyone at Manchester United would like to send our heartfelt wishes to Mala and bid her a speedy recovery.

We wish the 23-year-old all the best and hope to see her back out on the football pitch soon.
