What is Skinner looking for at Everton?

Marc Skinner has insisted his Manchester United Women side still has much more to give ahead of Sunday's clash at Everton.

The Reds have enjoyed an unbeaten start to our new Barclays WSL campaign, which last saw an impressive 1-1 draw with reigning champions Chelsea at the Progress With Unity Stadium.

Next up is a trip to Merseyside to face Everton, something which Skinner admits neither he nor his side will take for granted, when it comes to attempting to secure three points.

INTERVIEW | Marc Skinner says United Women can still produce better performances, starting on Sunday against Everton...

"I'm looking forward to it," began Marc in his exclusive pre-match chat with MUTV to preview the game. "Our squad is hopefully back to full health nearly as much as [it] can be. We've got a fitness test on Celin [Bizet Donnum], so we'll see where she's at.

"But Leah [Galton] should be welcomed back into the squad, which is great news for us and hopefully not for Everton. All in all, I think we've got to continue this momentum, continue the great form we've had and [the] great start to the season.

"[We are] against a team that's going to be buoyed with energy because of their new stadium. So we have got to measure that.

"We've got to absorb that and we've got to try and hurt them in a way that we know we can. I have utmost respect for Brian [Sorensen] and what he does. So I'm looking forward to a very tough game."

Heading to Hill Dickinson Stadium for the first time in the club's history is set to be a special occasion, with Ruben Amorim's first team not set to do so until February.

And despite our fine start, as evidenced against Valerenga in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night, Skinner still wants to see more from his side to bolster our chances of achieving another victory.

Marc Skinner's side are bidding to extend our unbeaten start to the new WSL season, at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

"[We have] to put another performance in to create [an] opportunity," added Marc. "If you can do that, and we've always spoken about this, we always want to try to get the result and we'll try and tweak and work to get that in the game.

"But actually [the] performance is really key. Being as tough as we are to beat at the back and being as fluid as we can be in attack. I know we scored one goal the other night, but it should have been three or four with the chances we created it.
"So again, if we can create those [chances] and we convert those against Everton, then we'll be in a really good space. It's not going to be easy and I stress that all the time, but I genuinely believe this is probably the best WSL list of teams that we've probably ever had.

"So we know the challenge each week, but we've got to embrace that and go after it with the whole-hearted energy that we have been doing and I'm looking forward to it. So I know the team will be ready and we will take it head on."
