Sabitzer: We have to get it done in Seville

Manchester United midfielder Marcel Sabitzer says the Reds must dust ourselves off and look ahead to our Europa League quarter-final second leg, following the 2-2 home draw with Sevilla.

Our no.15 scored twice inside the opening 25 minutes at Old Trafford, as Erik ten Hag's men raced into a two-goal lead at Old Trafford.

But the visitors scored two late goals, as Tyrell Malacia and Harry Maguire put through their own net to ensure the first leg ended level. Our focus will now quickly have to switch to Sunday's visit to Nottingham Forest and then the return leg in Seville in a week's time.

Man of the Match Marcel shared his thoughts with BT Sport following the full-time whistle at the Theatre of Dreams...

The Reds are pegged back late on at Old Trafford, as our Europa League quarter-final first leg ends all-square.

“I have problems finding the right words, it was like a rollercoaster game,” began our Austrian midfielder.

“[We] played a good first half, we had good chances and we had to finish the game off. At the end it's a draw and it is not what we wanted. We have to go to Seville and get it done there.

“As I said I think we had to finish the game off. We had the chances, we were confident in the game and we controlled the game.

“Unfortunately we gave easy goals away, we cannot concede these kind of goals and we are very disappointed.”

Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez both came off injured during a frustrating 90 minutes, while Ten Hag was also forced to withdraw Antony and Bruno Fernandes, who had both picked up bookings during the encounter.

Fernandes's yellow card rules him out of the return at the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan.

While Marcel refused to admit United 'took our foot off the pedal', he believes that, in a game with such high stakes, concentration levels must remain at their peak throughout.

There was an overwhelming winner in the public vote, following our 2-2 draw with Sevilla.

“In a competition like this you have to be focused until the end and when you are at a per cent less, you can give the game away.

“I think the last few minutes were a bit strange, one man down and we had to get the result done. As I said, two stupid goals and it is not what we wanted.

“It is very frustrating. You cannot concede like this, not focusing until the end and when you are 2-0 up at home, you have to get it done.”
