Rashford's positive update from Tour 2024
A fit and focused Marcus Rashford has provided an encouraging update on Tour 2024, presented by Snapdragon, while catching up with club reporter Sam Homewood in Los Angeles.
After winning the Emirates FA Cup in May, Marcus and the entire squad are hungry for further success in 2024/25 and our training sessions in the USA that are preparing the group for that mission.

CATCHING UP | Marcus Rashford speaks to Sam Homewood about Tour 2024, what makes him smile and dreaming of trophies…
At the start of the conversation, Marcus reflects on Tour 2024 so far and last weekend’s match against Arsenal at SoFi Stadium. “It's been good,” he says. “I think training has been good. Obviously, we were disappointed not to win the game [against Arsenal], but I think we also got some valuable minutes against a good opposition. So, you know, two halves to take from the game.
“But we're obviously looking to win more games going forward. You know, it's always nice to come back here [to UCLA]. I think they've got good facilities. We can get the work that we need to get done in the training sessions. So, definitely, it’s always good to come back here. It always seems to go so quickly once we get here. But it's been enjoyable.
“The stadium was nice. Nice stadium, nice atmosphere. And it's also good just to play in front of the fans that don't get to go to Old Trafford week in, week out.”
Changing subjects, club reporter Sam asks Rashy what makes him smile in life.
“Just generally enjoying the things that I'm doing,” explains Marcus. “I think that's as important as the football side of things, because if you're not enjoying yourself then it's difficult to play your best on the pitch.”
Marcus has previously revealed an interest in puzzles as a way to relax, and he admits it still helps him to this day. “I think more so when I'm in season, doing puzzles and just little games to keep myself activated,” he says. “I've got a couple at home that are waiting for me, so I will get started on them when I get back. I've tried a 3D one. It's hard though. It's tough. It takes longer.
“And plus, if my dog interrupts and starts eating pieces, I'm going to get more frustrated! I've only ever done one 3D one though. Most of them were just a thousand pieces. I think it was a car. Like I said, it was hard. I almost gave up. But it was my mum, actually... she said if I don't finish it, then I've been beaten, so I had to finish it… after about three weeks!”
Expanding on the games that keep him activated, the proud Academy graduate continues: “Do you know what, I'm a fan of doing other sports, but in the season it's difficult to do so. But when I was younger, I liked to do a lot of other sports. I liked tennis a lot. A bit of cricket, if I'm batting. I don’t like fielding. Just batting. That's the only fun bit for me.”
THIS IS HOW IT FEELS
Our interview concludes with Sam asking Marcus about his childhood dream of playing for United, and how it feels to be living that. “I think as you get older, your dreams change as well,” says Rashy.
“So, you know, in the beginning it was just about playing for Man United. And when you get there, it's about winning. So I still have, you know, dreams of winning the big trophies, the Premier League and Champions League with Man United. So, you know, hopefully we can get that done.”
