Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford believes that Tour 2022 is the ideal opportunity for the Reds to bond ahead of the new Premier League season.

Tour 2022 kicks off on 12 July, when United face Liverpool at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok.

Travelling to Thailand and having the opportunity to play in front of the global Manchester United fanbase is something that excites Rashford.

“We all enjoy getting away and spending that time together,” he said. “Being away from home for so long, it's [the team is] like your little family.

“It’s going to be a nice feeling,” he said. “We’ve not been able to travel because of Covid, and it’s something that we’ve missed.

“It’s always a big part of our pre-season so it’s exciting to be able to go to those places again.”

United continue the pre-season tour with fixtures in Melbourne and Perth, and Rashford shared his gratitude at having the chance to play in stadiums such as the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground.

He said: “It’s all about experiences and just enjoying having different platforms to perform on.

“For a club like United, it’s important to play at some of the biggest and most popular stadiums around the world, and luckily for us, we’re getting the opportunity to do that.”

He added: “It’s going to be a new experience for some of us and it’s important to embrace it and enjoy it.”

Tour 2022 is also the first opportunity for new Reds boss Erik ten Hag to work with his new squad.

Rashford shared his aims for pre-season and hopes that Ten Hag’s impact on the Reds will be immediately noticeable for supporters.

“At the beginning of pre-season, you want to get your fitness levels up,” he said. “[You want to] get back to what it’s like to play in the Premier League.

“When a team changes its identity and changes the purpose of the football, it’ll be quite obvious to see. I think you’ll be able to see it.”
