Marcus Rashford said winning silverware is a key aim for him and his Manchester United team-mates this season as we sealed our place in the Emirates FA Cup fourth round on Friday evening.

Our no.10 helped the Reds to a 3-1 win over Everton, maintaining an impressive run of form at Old Trafford, both on an individual and collective level.

It was United's eighth home win in a row, while Rashford’s stoppage-time penalty in front of the Stretford End ensured he has now netted in all of our last seven outings in M16.

The 25-year-old, part of the last United side to lift the FA Cup in the 2015/16 campaign, explained that lifting silverware has to be the aim for the Reds once again this term.

“Yeah, that’s the aim,” Rashford told ITV Sport after the game. “That’s why we do what we do and why we work so hard.
“We want to be in finals, we want to be in the biggest games, and ultimately, we want to win silverware and trophies, so hopefully this season, we get the opportunity to do that.

“Obviously, it’s always nice to go through in cup games and the FA Cup is definitely a special competition to play in."

The Reds are through to the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup after beating the Toffees at Old Trafford.

Rashford provided the cross for Antony’s fourth-minute opener, and another of his deliveries was deflected home by Conor Coady to put United back in front after the break, following a first-half equaliser from the Everton defender at the other end.

“They’re [Everton] under a bit of pressure,” our Academy graduate continued. “But I thought they did well, they didn’t panic after they conceded so early on.

“They got back in the game twice – one was offside – so they’re still fighting for each other and still a team. Hopefully things get better for them.”

Talking points include Antony scoring in another competition debut, Rashford's run and Ten Hag's defensive changes.

Now up to 13 goals in all competitions this season, and having recently passed the 100-goal mark for the club, Rashford agreed that his current run in front of goal is the best of his career so far.

“Yeah, probably, goalscoring form, this is probably up there with the best that I’ve been,” he added. “I feel good on the pitch, and I’m getting in positions and areas to score goals.

"If they (his team-mates) keep creating chances, I feel at the minute, I’ll keep scoring.”
