Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has been in the United States recently, taking a break for the summer while also working hard on his fitness prior to the beginning of the new campaign.

Erik ten Hag revealed last month that those who hadn’t been involved in June’s internationals would return to action at Carrington on Monday (27 June), ahead of Tour 2022 in Thailand and Australia.

Exact names have not yet been confirmed, but if Rashford is among that cohort then it’s fair to say he looks in good shape, as you can see from the clip below.

These weeks are also a time to relax and reset and Marcus shared a few images of himself meeting basketball star Giannis Antetokounmpo recently, while in the States.

The Milwaukee Bucks player, brilliantly nicknamed ‘the Greek Freak’, has established himself as one of the NBA’s biggest names in the past few years.

He won back-to-back Most Valuable Player (MVP) titles awards in 2019 and 2020, emulating greats such as Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and LeBron James, before leading the Bucks to their first NBA title in 50 years last season.

Giannis and Marcus posed for a couple of photographs, posted on Rashford’s Instagram, with the pair also swapping signed shirts.

Our no.10 also revealed via social media that he met Sabrina Ionescu, a top professional from the Women's NBA. The California-born player joined her current team New York Liberty in 2020, two years after being in the United States side for the 3x3 World Cup.

Again, Marcus and Sabrina's meeting at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn was marked by a trading of tops - his England jersey and her Liberty shirt.

Antetokounmpo and Ionescu are the latest stars of American sports to meet one of our own.

In March, legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady was in attendance at Old Trafford to see Cristiano Ronaldo score a hat-trick in a 3-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

Seven-time Superbowl winner Brady had initially announced his retirement, following the 2021 season.

But shortly after witnessing 37-year-old Ronaldo's heroics, the veteran announced he would be returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' roster for 2022.
