Marcus Rashford’s start against Everton is his 200th Premier League appearance, making him the youngest ever United player to reach the landmark.

At the age of 24 years and 160 days, Rashford overtakes Reds legend Ryan Giggs, who achieved the same number of Premier League appearances aged 24 years and 295 days.

Giggs went on to play in a total of 632 Premier League matches for United, recording 109 goals and 162 assists along the way.

The Welsh winger also lifted the Premier League title 13 times during his decorated and illustrious career at the club.

Now, fellow Academy graduate Rashford has surpassed Giggs’ incredible appearance record, having established himself as a key player for United in the six years since scoring a brace on his Premier League debut against Arsenal in 2016.

The England international has recorded a total of 59 goals and 32 assists in the league, scoring some vital goals this season to ensure that Ralf Rangnick’s side maintain the challenge for a Champions League place.

Rashford’s last goal for the Reds was his last-minute winner against top-four rivals West Ham, his second in consecutive matches having notched away to Brentford in the fixture before.

Returning to the starting XI on Merseyside, Rashford will be looking to get back on the scoresheet.

Speaking to BT Sport ahead of the Everton clash, Rangnick expressed his desire for the 24-year-old to make an impact.

“He quite often has trained well [in the past few weeks]," said Ralf. "I very much hope that he can transform the performance from the training pitch onto the pitch.”
