Tuesday 18 July 2023 19:30

Marcus Rashford has called it a “huge honour” to play in front of the Manchester United fans and underlined his continued ambition to win the biggest prizes at the club.

The United Academy graduate topped the Reds’ scoring charts last season and will head into the new campaign off the back of signing a fresh long-term contract extension at Old Trafford, which was announced earlier today (Tuesday).

To mark the news, Marcus Rashford joined former Reds defender Wes Brown at the Theatre of Dreams for an exclusive interview, which you will be able to see in full via our official platforms from 09:00 BST on Wednesday morning.

Having looked back on his United journey so far, our no.10 concludes the chat by sharing a passionate and wholehearted message for our supporters, after extending his stay at the club.

The 25-year-old became an instant hero in M16 after scoring twice on his famous debut against Midtjylland in February 2016, and has been a favourite within our fan base ever since, as his career has gone from strength to strength.

It’s clear to see in Marcus’s words below that the backing doesn’t go unnoticed and is something that he – and his team-mates – will use as fuel to keep driving for success.

“Just a big thank you,” Marcus begins, addressing our supporters in his interview with Wes Brown.

“It's a huge honour to play in front of these fans every week, and it's something that you never get bored of or tired of.

“So, we're going to keep giving 100 per cent and keep trying to improve because I think the team's got a lot of growth in us. We desperately just want to win trophies.

Marcus says he "couldn't be more excited for the future" after extending his stay with United.

“The days that I remember watching when I was a kid, we want to try and bring those days back, he continues.

And I think step by step, especially last season, we took a lot of steps in the right direction.

“So, hopefully we can keep pushing and the aim is to get that Premier League trophy and the Champions League.”

You will be able to hear more from Marcus when his exclusive chat with Wes Brown is released in full on Wednesday, via ManUtd.com and the United App.
