Rashford shares positive update on his recovery

Marcus Rashford could be back in full training for Manchester United as soon as next week, the 23-year-old revealed on Monday morning.

The England forward has been recovering from a shoulder operation for the last couple of months, his last run-out being for his country in the Euro 2020 final back in July.

We shared footage of Rashford training on grass again at the end of August, but he's yet to engage in full contact team training.

Rashford spotted training at Carrington

Read all about a big day for Marcus and his recovery, after our cameras captured him working hard with a coach.

Sharing good news at the start of the week, Marcus told his followers on Twitter:

"Happy Monday. I see the doctor on Friday for a consultation. All being well, I will get the green light to join in with contact training again."

It's fantastic news for Rashford and for United. The Wythenshawe-born striker hit top form for the Reds around this time last year, scoring a winning goal in Paris in the Champions League before a hat-trick as a substitute against RB Leipzig in the same competition.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told us last week that Rashford has "worked really hard" but that we're unlikely to see him back in action for the first team "until after the international break."

United play twice more before that, against Villarreal (29 September) and Everton (2 October).

Rashford's England teammates will then meet up for a couple of World Cup qualifiers, but he'll stay at Carrington to get himself fully ready for the October run-in.

It won't be long before this man is terrorising Premier League defences once again...
If he returns after the international break, his first game back could be against Leicester City on 16 October. We can't wait to see him in action again!
