Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Marcus Rashford

Rashford spotted training at Carrington

Encouraging news for Manchester United fans - our cameras have spotted Marcus Rashford working on the grass at Carrington!

Our no.10 scored 21 goals across all competitions last season, narrowly missing out on the 22 he netted in 2019/20, and he would have been keen to beat that tally this term, especially with England team-mate Jadon Sancho being added to our attacking arsenal.

However, Marcus underwent shoulder surgery earlier in the summer, which has meant he has had to sit out of the first few games of 2021/22.

His surgery was a success and the rehabilitation is going well: it’s great to see Marcus training on the grass…

The operation on the long-standing issue went well, according to Rashford, who took to social media to share the news a fortnight ago.

At the weekend, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that the Academy graduate had resumed some fitness work, ahead of a potential return soon.

“He seemed very happy with the surgery,” the boss said.

“He’s working in the gym. We see him every day so he’ll be chomping at the bit when it gets nearer to the time when he can come back.”

And in the first 10 seconds of our edit of Wednesday's training, Marcus can clearly be seen shaking hands and in deep discussion with the boss.

He then does some running exercises with the coaches, before also conducting some ball work. Watch the full thing above.

While Rashford's return is still likely to be some time away, it's great to see the England international once more.

We're looking forward to welcoming you back for real, Marcus - in the meantime, keep up that recovery work!
