Manchester United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka has hailed the character of his team-mates, after the Reds twice came from behind to post a 4-2 victory over Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.

After a cagey first 45 minutes at Old Trafford, Villa forward Ollie Watkins opened the scoring shortly after the restart, with Anthony Martial quick to respond to level matters for Erik ten Hag's men.

Diogo Dalot then, unfortunately, put through his own net, before goals from Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay ensured our place in round four of the competition.

Making his competitive debut for United, Dubravka was quick to praise the nature of our victory, hailing a strong team performance throughout the 90 minutes.

Dubravka: I am enjoying every minute

After making his United debut at Old Trafford, Martin Dubravka discusses his time as a Red thus far...

''I think it was probably the most important thing [the character shown] today because we know Villa played well in the last game against us and we wanted that revenge,'' he began when speaking to MUTV post match.

''I am glad that we showed that character and that we could please our fans as well.

''It was a crazy game. Coming from 1-0 down, then 2-1, we showed the character today and I am glad that we turned it around and won the game.''

Having been made to wait for his debut since his loan switch from Newcastle United this summer, the 33-year-old has insisted he is happy to help provide strong competition to fellow goalkeepers David De Gea and Tom Heaton this season.

With our Dutch boss opting to give the Serbian the nod against Unai Emery's side at Old Trafford, Martin has detailed just how he is enjoying the camaraderie within the United camp at present.

''I enjoy working with him [David],'' added Dubravka. He is a great lad and obviously I came here to challenge him, of course, but, at the same time, I respect him as a person.

''I am happy we have created a good mood around the training ground with Tom [Heaton] and the other guys as well that I have to mention.
