Action and reaction: Southampton 2 United 3

Sunday 29 November 2020 18:00

Manchester United produced a stirring comeback in the club's very best traditions, to win 3-2 at Southampton and move into seventh in the Premier League table.

Trailing 2-0 at the interval to goals from Jan Bednarek and James Ward-Prowse, we also lost David De Gea to injury but Dean Henderson came on to make his Premier League debut for the club and Edinson Cavani replaced Mason Greenwood in attack.

Not for the first time against the Saints, United refused to buckle and the never-say-die attitude sparked a tremendous turnaround.

Edinson Cavani comes off the bench to help inspire a superb comeback win for the Reds at St Mary's.

Bruno Fernandes provided hope by turning in a Cavani centre before the Uruguayan took centre stage, netting two headers, the second in the dying seconds, to supply a real boost ahead of the visit of his former employers Paris Saint-Germain in midweek.
