Manchester United Women beat Everton 5-0 on Sunday afternoon, as Marc Skinner's side extended their unbeaten start to the new WSL season.

Melvine Malard scored her third goal for the Reds as she opened the scoring after just 14 minutes played, before fellow forward Nikita Parris added our second on the cusp of the hour mark on Merseyside.

Substitute Rachel Williams then further extended our advantage after Parris turned provider, before the former grabbed her second and United's fourth with a well-timed header from close range soon after.

The scoring was complete inside stoppage time, as Parris lofted the ball over Toffees goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan to round off an emphatic victory.

Ella Toone was an ever-present threat for the Reds at Walton Hall Park.
FIRST HALF

Jayde Riviere's early work down the right created multiple opportunities as the Reds flew out of the blocks. The Canada international dug out a well-timed cross that fell to the feet of Malard, who saw her effort charged down well by Everton defender Megan Finnigan.

Skinner's side took the lead shortly after, with Katie Zelem's free-kick was initially headed away, albeit only as far as Maya Le Tissier. Our no.4 flicked the ball back into the danger area, where Malard pounced the quickest to nod the ball past Brosnan and into the net.

Summer signing Hinata Miyazawa was enjoying plenty of freedom in the middle of the park and her cross to pick out Parris almost made it two shortly after, with her header flashing narrowly wide of the post.

Hanna Bennison tried her luck from range as the half-hour mark approached, forcing Mary Earps into a smart stop. Nicoline Sorensen also saw her effort saved by the England international, as we went in at the break a goal to the good.
SECOND HALF

Ella Toone was the first United player to come close as the second half began, as her right-footed effort sailed just a tad too high to trouble Brosnan in the Everton goal.

Captain Zelem then turned provider as we doubled our advantage, with her cross headed home brilliantly by Parris from close range.

The Reds continued to up the ante and didn't take their foot off the gas inside the final stages, with Parris laying on the pass for Williams to make it 3-0 after 77 minutes played.

Snatching possession from Katrine Veje, the former Toffees forward squared the ball for Williams who had the simple task of tapping home.

Three quickly became four as the former Birmingham City striker grabbed her second of the game, heading home Riviere's cross to add further misery for the hosts.

The scoring was then complete inside stoppage time, as Irene Guerrero's perfectly weighted pass fell kindly to Parris, as she chipped the ball over Brosnan to grab a brace of her own.
