Report: Wolves 1 United 4

Monday 08 December 2025 22:10

Manchester United made it five away games unbeaten in the Premier League with a comfortable 4-1 win against Wolves.

Bruno Fernandes got the ball rolling with a scrappy finish after 25 minutes played in the Midlands, before Wolves hit back in first-half stoppage time through Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.

But Ruben Amorim's Reds turned on the gas in the second half, with Bryan Mbeumo, Mason Mount and Fernandes again completing a professional display.

That result takes United up to sixth in the standings, with attention now turning to our next clash against Bournemouth at Old Trafford. Tickets are still available for the game.

FIRST HALF - BRUNO SCORES BUT WOLVES LEVEL

United started the game the brighter of the two sides, with Fernandes's wonderful early pass picking out the advancing run of Diogo Dalot. His fellow Portugal international took the ball in his stride before charging down on goal, but was denied as his curling effort was saved by Sam Johnstone.

A nasty challenge from Jhon Arias saw Noussair Mazraoui require further medical attention, as Ruben's side continued to dominate the early sparring in the Midlands.

After further flourishes forward from Amad and Mount, we took took the lead with 25 minutes played, as a strange passage of play transpired.

The hosts gifted possession back to United, with former Wolves man Matheus Cunha left one-on-one. His square pass fell to the feet of Fernandes who, despite slipping, managed to squeeze a sliding effort past Johnstone to net the opener.

A slick, flowing move, almost brought a second shortly after, with Mbeumo played through on goal. Our no.19 saw his strike denied, but Cunha's follow-up was brilliant cleared off the line by Wolves captain Toti.

Our penalty claims that followed were turned down, as we continued to up the ante. Amad went one way, and then the other, before his shot seemed to fly off of the arm of Emmanuel Agbadou. No spot-kick would be awarded on that occasion.

Bellegrade was beginning to look a threat and, after the Reds took too long on the ball, the 27-year-old curled a right-footed drive over the bar and into the lower section of the Stan Cullis Stand.

But Wanderers's advances were rewarded in first-half stoppage time, as a deep cross from the right fell to the feet of David Moller Wolfe, with his redelivery finding the ever-threatening Bellegarde, who found the bottom corner to ensure we went in with work to do at the break.

SECOND HALF - THE REDS FIND SECOND GEAR

United started the second 45 with a fresh impetus, with Amad continuing to cause the hosts problems over on the right flank. Teeing up Cunha, our no.10 just applied too much power as the ball sailed over.

A two-on-two attack soon transpired as Mbeumo and Cunha broke at pace to try and find a go-ahead goal, the latter saw his latest attempt stopped in its tracks by Agbadou.

Wanderers were soon punished for their unsuccessful attempts at keeping the ball, as Cunha found the racing Dalot, who then saw Mbeumo in heaps of space. The Cameroon international had the simplest of tasks as Johnstone rushed out to try and close the angle, tapping home into an empty net to restore our lead.

As the hour mark ticked on, Amorim's free-flowing side had a third in the game as our attacks finally were being rewarded at a frequent pace. Captain Bruno led the charge as the ball came back out to him. His clipped pass fell perfectly to Mount, who needed just his first touch to delicately place the ball into the net for 3-1.

A brilliant ball from Fernandes was expertly dispatched by our no.7.

Our no.8 wasn't letting his team-mates rest at three, as his next cross found Cunha again, who you could see was itching to notch against his former employers. His latest attempt was saved by Wanderers's no.31.

Mount was enjoying a solid second half and, overjoyed after his goal, his slick forward play was allowing the Reds to break at ease, with our pushes rewarded soon after.

Bruno's corner was majestically floated out to Amad, who tried to recreate his recent volley against Forest. Hitting the arm of Yerson Mosquera in the process, referee Michael Salisbury was advised to head to the monitor to check if the Colombian had indeed used his hand.

VAR confirmed the call, with a penalty awarded, and a yellow was indeed then handed to the 24-year-old. Fernandes took on responsibility, tucking away his second of the game to make it 4-1 from the spot and put the result to bed.

All that was left was for United to see out the victory with nine added on. Sub Fer Lopez drove an effort over the bar from range for Wolves, but it was another victory for our Reds on the road, after a solid display in the Midlands.

A big win on the road!
