Maxi Oyedele has secured a loan switch to League Two side Forest Green Rovers.

The Manchester United youngster had a youth loan at Altrincham last term but this will represent his first taste of football in the EFL.

Although he can play in defence, the 19-year-old has been operating more regularly in midfield and has obtained experience in Premier League 2, the EFL Trophy and the UEFA Youth League in 2023/24.

After being involved in the pre-season campaign for the Reds, Oyedele has pushed on this term and this is an excellent next step for him.

Although a local lad, he represents Poland at youth level and is clearly gaining in his footballing education all the time.

This is the sixth loan move agreed this window, after Alvaro Fernandez (Benfica), Hannibal (Sevilla), Joe Hugill (Burton Albion), Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund) and Donny van de Beek (Eintracht Frankfurt).

Forest Green, managed by Troy Deeney, are next in League Two action on Saturday, when they travel to Gillingham, and Oyedele could make his debut.

Former Red Charlie McCann is part of the first-team squad.

Best of luck to Maxi and we'll be following his progress closely!
