More players back for second training week

Monday 04 July 2022 13:20

Manchester United have commenced a second week of pre-season work, one that includes the flight out to Thailand to start Tour 2022.

There were some familiar faces reporting back at Carrington for the first time after their international endeavours at the end of last season.

Diogo Dalot and the Brazilian pair Alex Telles and Fred were among the returnees arriving in high spirits, in preparation for their first training session under new boss Erik ten Hag.

Harry Maguire was all smiles as the captain entered the building, with fellow centre-backs Raphael Varane and Eric Bailly also reporting for duty.

Bruno Fernandes was another Red who seemed delighted to be bumping into the staff again before getting down to business.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been granted permission not to attend due to family reasons.

James Garner and Dylan Levitt are back after successful loan spells, with Nottingham Forest and Dundee United respectively.

The young midfielders, who came from the same development centre and appeared together in midfield at senior level in the game at Astana in the Europa League away tie in 2019, will be raring to go on the training pitch.

We'll cover the session exclusively later on official club media, including the United App and ManUtd.com.
