As Premier League football returns, we had a chat with Capital Xtra DJ Rob Bruce, who was at Old Trafford as United took on Luton Town...

First off, tell us: where did your love for Manchester United originate?
“From the jump, it’s always been United for me! Family members have tried to force Arsenal, Liverpool, and West Ham on to me, but no one could beat the Yorke/Cole partnership, the baby-faced assassin [Ole Gunnar Solskjaer], and a sprinkle of Barthez's personality!”

Your favourite United players of all time as a 5-a-side team, go!
“Evra, Rio, Rooney, Carrick, and Park Ji Sung. We'll play rush goalie!”

What values do you and United share, and what do you enjoy the most about being part of the United family/community?
“Fearlessness! United has never been scared to approach anything, whether it's promoting youth, chasing last-minute winners, or taking on the best teams in the world. I feel this fearlessness resonates with me. I love the passion the United community shares, win or lose, we turn up week-in, and week-out for the team.”

Talking of family, how is your family? Are the little ones going to be Reds one day?
“The family is great! Having a child is a big blessing. He's definitely going to be a Red! We all just got our United shirts with our names and birth numbers on the back. This will be a picture for the family album!”

Do you feel like you’ve grown as a person with fatherhood?
“Absolutely! It’s a crazy feeling and all of a sudden you have a whole new purpose. It’s made me appreciate the small things in life and want to be the best role model possible for the little man.”

You’re also the coolest dad taking your son to a music festival, Where’s next on the list as a family?
“Carrying a baby backpack throughout a festival was a humbling experience! Once my wife gives us the green light, we're definitely taking a trip to Old Trafford. I need a family picture in front of the stadium!”

You’ve spoken about how Old Trafford is an amazing place to be, where else have you been that is iconic in your eyes?
“I've been blessed enough to DJ at the O2 Arena in London while on tour with D-Block Europe! Seeing the arena fill up and everyone enjoying themselves is a pretty iconic feeling.”

Last but not least, who would your dream guest be on Capital Xtra?
“It has to be the boss himself: Sir Alex Ferguson! I would love to know how he felt when times got tough, how he knew what talent to bring forward, and the behind-the-scenes highlights of his time at United.”
