My United with Harry Pinero
You might have seen Harry Pinero on our channels before, he’s even appeared in some of our previous kit launch campaigns.
A huge United fan and friend of some of the players, we linked up with Harry after the Chivas Regal pitch day to chat about his history with United, what he’s looking forward to under Erik ten Hag and much more.
To see Harry and a host of other great players take to the Old Trafford pitch, you can check out the highlights of the Chivas Regal game below.
Harry, We’re here at Old Trafford for the Chivas Regal UK XI v ROW XI, how was the game?
"Very good! I think it was end-to-end. Obviously, Team UK started off really well, then we went 3-0 down but clawed it back. It was great to get to American-style penalties, and we could have won the game, but unfortunately that’s how the cookie crumbles sometimes."
What’s it like playing at Old Trafford?
"Unreal. It’s my second time playing here, the first time I was a bit overwhelmed. But this time I’ve been training. You can see that I was a commanding presence at the back, but it’s not about me. But it was really good, I really enjoyed it."
“Paul Scholes, easy. I think he would make my game look so much better. It wouldn’t really be me playing, would it? It’d just be me standing next to him!”
How did it feel walking down the tunnel and out onto the pitch?
“I’ve been watching United since I was a kid, I’m a big fan of course. I’ve seen them come out every season, so to walk down that tunnel just made me feel like a player. With Louis Saha, John O’shea and Wes Brown here today it really made me feel like a player today!"
What is your favourite moment as a Manchester United fan?
"Well it has to be the Treble in 1999, that’s when I officially fell in love with the team!"
What’s your favourite thing about Old Trafford?
"I think it’s just the history. You walk into the stadium, the pitch, and you just feel a sense of history. It’s a sense of belonging if you’re a United fan as well."
What’s your favourite United goal?
"That’s a tough one. I think it might have to be Andy Cole’s goal against Tottenham, to basically seal the title for us. Again, that’s the ‘99 season!"
Favourite player of all time?
"Wow. I’ll go with Paul Scholes again. I think for me, Paul Scholes is our best-ever midfield player that we’ve had. An architect, some of the best players in the world have said that when they’ve faced him that he’s been unreal."
"Arsenal, you know? I think the sense of history that we have. Obviously over the last few years it hasn’t been as heightened as the rivalry has been [previously]. But I think the history, for me, it’s the massive game."
Who is your favourite young 'baller currently at United?
"Wow! Shola Shoretire. That’s the truth, that’s the future. With a special mention to Elanga as well, and Teden Mengi, ballers. Garner, do you know what? The lot of them!"
Quickfire questions with Sidemen’s TBJZL
Watch as TBJZL (aka Tobi) of YouTube group Sidemen answers our quickfire questions on his beloved United…
What are you looking forward to under Erik ten Hag?
"I think he’s a very disciplined manager, I think he needs to bring discipline to United. And his philosophy is very attacking, beautiful football, we would love to see that football being played at United."
Your dream summer signing for United?
"There’s two players: Declan Rice would be amazing, but also Jude Bellingham. Jude, I think is too good for his age, and I think at a team like United, with the history, and with Ten Hag coming in, would be a great addition."
Who’s making it into your United all-time five-a-side team? You can include yourself if you want!
"I would go with Edwin van der Sar, Rio Ferdinand, Paul Scholes, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney."
