Matic: It’s a game to enjoy

Nemanja Matic says Manchester United are feeling good ahead of Sunday’s trip to Liverpool and the midfielder insists 'it’s a game to enjoy.'

United travel to Merseyside to face the league leaders having been the only team so far this season to take any points off them in the Premier League.

Ole’s men held Jurgen Klopp’s side to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford in October and Matic says we go there looking forward to another challenge against them.

“Of course it will be another big game for us and Liverpool as we know we are in a good run,” he told us. “But it’s a game to enjoy, and to compare our qualities with the best players and with one of the best teams. I’m looking forward to that and I’m sure we’ll be ready.”

Matic also reflected on a hard-fought Emirates FA Cup victory over Wolves at Old Trafford in the third-round replay on Wednesday thanks to Juan Mata’s excellent winner.

“It was a hard game. They are an amazing team. I think they have top players, some of them I know from the Portuguese league, I played against them like Joao Moutinho and they have top class players,” he added.

“We knew that and we knew it wouldn’t be easy and we prepared our best way for that game and I’m happy we’re through. Juan scored an amazing goal and I’m happy for him. We are moving into the next round and we will see who we’ll play next and hopefully we can do something and win this trophy.

“It’s been a busy run of games,” he continued. “In England it’s hard because we play every three days. But that’s why this league has the best players and you have to be ready for that.

"It’s not easy but we need to be mentally strong, prepared and it’s busy this period but at the beginning of February we will have time to rest and we have to use that.”
