New contracts for United trio
Manchester United is delighted to announce that three Academy players have signed new contracts with the club.
Goalkeeper Paul Woolston has signed a one-year deal and will begin his fourth season with United.
Woolston will continue to be a great influence on his team-mates both on and off the pitch. He played nine times for the Under-23s during the 2020/21 season and will once again be a pivotal part of the Academy’s goalkeeper group.
Seventeen-year-old Joe Hugill has enjoyed a fantastic week having gained invaluable experience with the first-team coming on as a substitute against Derby County and Queens Park Rangers.
All three players will be looking to hone their talents behind the scenes and maintain their development at the club in the coming months and years.
Meanwhile, MUTV are to show highlights of the Under-23s' friendly with Stalybridge Celtic on Wednesday.
Tuesday night's game will be preceded by ex-United skipper Bryan Robson unveiling a plaque to commemorate Bert Whalley, who was a hugely influential figure at both clubs.
