Rasmus Hojlund says he arrives at Manchester United with the clear intention of giving everything he has to help the club win trophies.

The 20-year-old striker completed his move from Italian side Atalanta on Saturday, when he was unveiled to the Old Trafford crowd before our pre-season victory over RC Lens.

Hojlund, a boyhood United fan, received a warm welcome in M16 and he’s now determined to show what he can do as a Red.

“I’m very excited,” he said, speaking in his first interview as a United player, with club media.

“I want to bleed for this jersey, and I want to win some trophies, so that’s why I came here.

“Of course, I’m 20 years old, so I have a lot still to learn, but I hope I can become a world-class striker as soon as possible.”
Rasmus may still be at a fledgling age, but his ambition and will to win is very much evident in our first conversation with him, which you can watch in full above.

The Dane says his desire to claim silverware with the club is just one of the factors behind the decision to move to Manchester, as is the opportunity to test himself in the Premier League.

“That’s also why I come here,” he explains, referencing the English top flight. “I know it’s the most competitive league in the world.

“Playing for Man United has always been my dream. So, this is two very important components which make me take this decision to come here.

“So, [I’m] just looking forward to start working and getting on the pitch.”

While the striker’s excitement is high, it's likely to be a few weeks before we see him with his boots on, due to a small issue he sustained in pre-season with his former club.

Rasmus’s recovery is progressing well however, and we already know he’ll be itching to get out there as soon as possible.
