Ole confirms Amad will play for Under-23s

Manchester United new boy Amad will feature for the Under-23s again in Friday night's home game with Blackburn Rovers, live on MUTV.

Our cameras will be there to capture the action as Neil Wood's young Reds look to build on the superb 6-3 victory at Liverpool last weekend, when Joe Hugill scored four times.

Amad, who has told us he only wants to be known by his first name, netted the other two in the remarkable triumph on Merseyside.

The MUTV pundits were impressed with our new man’s showing against Liverpool Under-23s and can’t wait to see more…

"Amad will be playing," Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told MUTV's Mark Sullivan. "We’re working on his match fitness. Of course, he’s working hard in training and Blackburn are top of the league so it will be good challenge for them again.”

The Ivorian prospect played on the right flank against Liverpool and will look to catch the eye again as Wood juggles his options following the loss of a number of players on loan and permanently last month, including defenders Teden Mengi, Ethan Laird, Luca Ercolani and Lukasz Bejger.

There could be promotions from the exciting Under-18s squad as a result, with Wood saying: "Naturally, it will happen if there are spaces that have been freed up and they’ll be the next group of players ready for the challenge of playing Under-23s football.”

The Reds will still be without forward Anthony Elanga, who injured his collarbone against Leicester City recently, as Blackburn aim to strengthen their position at the top of the Premier League 2 Division 1 table.

Billy Barr's XI is likely to include experienced first-teamers, as senior boss Tony Mowbray has already confirmed to this effect, with ex-Red Corry Evans and Elliott Bennett among the candidates to play.

The game is exclusively live from Leigh Sports Village on MUTV, with kick-off at 19:00 GMT.
