Team news for United's Brighton cup tie

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted he will again utilise his squad in the Carabao Cup, ahead of Wednesday's fourth-round tie at Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Reds make a swift return to the Amex Stadium, scene of Saturday's dramatic 3-2 victory in the Premier League, for the 19:45 BST kick-off, which presents an opportunity to progress to the quarter-finals of the competition.

After shuffling his pack for the win at Luton Town in the previous round, Ole has told us he is likely to adopt a similar approach for the match on the south coast, with the visit of Tottenham Hotspur to Old Trafford at the weekend looming large.

When asked if both teams will field very different line-ups to Saturday, the boss told MUTV's Stewart Gardner: “I’m not sure. Every game lives its own life and, of course at the stage we’re at in the season with all the games coming up, I think teams are making changes. You can see teams have a cup team and a league team and we’ll make changes. It’ll be very similar to what happened last week against Luton.

“It’s an opportunity for game-time. We need to build up the squad for a long season ahead and, of course, it’s an opportunity for individuals to impress.

“At the stage we’re at, we need to have players ready and available because it’s a long season. But we have a strong and a big squad.”

The manager reported no fresh knocks or injuries coming out of the 3-2 win in our last outing, secured with Bruno Fernandes's 100th-minute penalty, after the final whistle had sounded.

“No, not really,“ answered Ole, in relation to new injuries. “We’ve got a big week coming up with this cup game and Tottenham on Sunday, so [we've got] eyes on both of them.”

There are options all over the pitch for the boss to consider, including Dean Henderson, Brandon Williams, Eric Bailly, Jesse Lingard, Donny van de Beek, Juan Mata and Odion Ighalo, who all started the 3-0 triumph at Luton last week.

Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Bruno Fernandes came off the bench to good effect at Kenilworth Road while club captain Harry Maguire is already the only man to start all of our games this term.
