Ole: I hope to have five Reds back next week
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given an update on five absent Manchester United players, after our win over West Ham United on Sunday.
The Reds recorded a 1-0 victory over the Hammers thanks to Craig Dawson’s second-half own goal. It was an excellent result against a side gunning for a place in the top four, but even more so, considering the Reds were missing so many key first-teamers.
With a huge week coming up for United, including cup games against AC Milan and Leicester City, Ole was asked whether he will be able to call upon any more players for the double-header.

The boss assesses our victory against the Hammers and gives an injury update on five Reds....
“We hope, we actually hope all five of them will be back,” the boss revealed. “David [De Gea] hopefully, Donny [van de Beek], Edinson [Cavani], Paul [Pogba] maybe, and Anthony [Martial] is very likely to be back. So a stronger squad to travel to Italy with.”
It’s a huge boost for the Reds, as we head into the second leg of our last-16 tie, following a 1-1 draw from the Old Trafford meeting earlier this week.
De Gea missed that match and our last four games, with the goalkeeper returning to Spain for the birth of his first child.
Prior to the game, Ole explained that David’s availability will be dependent on him passing a COVID-19 test after following the required protocols since his return to England.

Meanwhile, van de Beek has missed the majority of the last month with a muscle problem, while Pogba last played in the 3-3 draw with Everton on 6 February, due to a hamstring injury.
Cavani has missed the last three games with a minor knock and Martial was forced off at half-time in the first leg against Milan.
Should they all return to the team for the reverse meeting at the San Siro, it means that only Phil Jones and Juan Mata will be ruled out through injury.
Make sure to watch Ole’s pre-match press conference on Wednesday for another injury update on the five players.
