Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claps the Manchester United fans at Old Trafford

Solskjaer delighted with exhilarating Reds

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer highlighted the Reds’ attacking prowess after Sunday's win over Brighton at Old Trafford.

United were dominant in the 3-1 victory, with strikes from Andreas Pereira and Marcus Rashford plus a Davy Propper own goal securing an important three points which sends us up to seventh in the Premier League table.

Speaking to MUTV after the win, the boss was full of praise for his young United side…

AN EXHILARATING PERFORMANCE

“It was great, exhilarating. When you see a team perform like this and players perform like this, I know there are quite a few United fans who will go home – maybe some young fans – saying ‘I want to be like those attackers, I want to be like Brandon Williams, Dan James, Marcus Rashford.’ That’s what we’re here for, and we haven’t done that enough this season, but today I thought it was excellent.”

Ole: We were excellent today

Speaking to MUTV, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was delighted with United's 'exhilarating' performance against Brighton...

IMPRESSIVE WILLIAMS

“He [Brandon Williams] was excellent. He could’ve had a goal, he could’ve had an assist, and he defended fantastically. I’m very pleased for the boy, he’s had a great month.”

FORWARDS WORKING TOGETHER

“You can talk about the goals we score but also the link-up play – Anthony’s work through the middle gives Marcus, Dan and Andreas space to run into. I thought Anthony was excellent today.”
RASHFORD FRUSTRATED NOT TO SCORE MORE

“You know when you’re annoyed but still smiling, you know you’ve enjoyed your day. You can see he’s enjoyed himself out there and he’s unhappy that he didn’t get more goals and assists. I wouldn’t have wanted to be a defender playing against them [United’s attackers] when they keep on running like this.”

A HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR DANIEL JAMES

“He’s had a great impact both on and off the pitch, behind the scenes and on the training field. His attitude, the way he looks after himself and the way he is humble, does his work, and when he’s on the pitch he produces. He’s had a great impact and let’s hope he continues. He enjoyed his birthday I think!”
CONCERN OVER MCTOMINAY’S INJURY

“He rolled over on his ankle so it looked sore. I’m not a doctor, but it looked like a painful one.”

AN IMPORTANT WIN AHEAD OF THE INTERNATIONAL BREAK

“When you play like this, you want another game straight away. The last international break was fantastic timing for us, and we’ve done well since. We disappointed ourselves and everyone last weekend but overall, with seven games, five wins and a draw against Liverpool, it’s been a step forward.”
