Confirmed: Three United players to join tour squad
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed a trio of players - Dean Henderson, Matteo Darmian and Fred - will all join the Tour 2019 squad in Singapore.
Solskjaer’s men will then fly to Asia on Thursday for the second leg of the pre-season campaign, ahead of the weekend's International Champions Cup match against Internazionale at the Singapore National Stadium.
Training for Leeds test
GalleryMonday's session featured Saturday's match absentees - Lukaku, Bailly, Lindelof and Grant.
“After they’ve been given some leave, they’ll come to Singapore,” the manager told reporters.
“So we expect Dean, Fred and Matteo to join us there.”
Solskjaer initially named a 28-man squad for Tour 2019 and, when that group was announced on 7 July, it was confirmed that Darmian and Fred would not travel for family reasons.
Henderson spent last season on loan at Sheffield United and, after competing at the European Under-21 Champions with England, he had been training with the first team at the Aon Training Complex in early July.
He was not named in the initial travelling squad, but now looks set to join the tour in Asia.
That means the manager will have five goalkeepers to choose from, with David De Gea, Sergio Romero, Lee Grant and Joel Pereira already working hard each day.
Leeds will be the second of six pre-season games being shown live on MUTV this summer. The club's official television channel is available on MUTV.com, the MUTV app, Amazon Fire, Roku, Xbox and Apple TV.
